These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LAVOIR website and your purchase of any products from us. LAVOIR LTD (company number 16933666, registered in England and Wales), trading as LAVOIR ("we," "us," "our"), operates this store, which is powered by Shopify. By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Returns policy, which form part of these Terms.

1. About us

LAVOIR is a small-batch homecare brand based in Cheltenham, England. Our first product, La Lessive, is a liquid laundry soap prepared and packed by hand.

2. Using this website

You may use this website only for lawful purposes. You must not misuse it, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or interfere with its operation. We may suspend or withdraw access to the website at any time, and we don't guarantee it will always be available or uninterrupted.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. By ordering, you confirm that you are.

4. Products

Our products are made in small batches by hand, so slight natural variation in colour, finish, and scent is part of the character of what we make. We describe each product as clearly and accurately as we can, but images and descriptions are for guidance and small differences may occur.

La Lessive is a soap-based liquid laundry wash. It is not a stain remover. Please read the usage and care guidance, and the ingredient and safety information, on the product page and the bottle before use.

5. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). For orders shipped within the United Kingdom, prices include UK VAT where applicable. For orders shipped to the United States and Canada, no UK VAT is charged, but the order may be subject to import duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees charged by the destination country, which are not included in the price shown at checkout and are payable by you — see our Shipping policy for detail. We may change prices at any time, but changes won't affect orders we've already accepted. Payment is taken at checkout through Shopify's secure payment processing. By placing an order, you confirm that the payment method used is yours and that you are authorised to use it.

6. Orders

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we send you confirmation that your order has been accepted and dispatched. We may decline or cancel an order — for example, if an item is out of stock, if there's an error in the price or description, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order you've paid for, we'll refund you in full.

Because LAVOIR is made in limited batches, stock shown at checkout reflects what is genuinely ready to dispatch, and items may sell out.

7. Shipping

We ship to the United Kingdom mainland (England, Scotland and Wales), the Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, the United States, and Canada. We are currently unable to ship to Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, or the EU. Orders to mainland Great Britain are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48; orders to the Isle of Man, Guernsey, and Jersey are sent via DHL Express; orders to the United States and Canada are sent via a tracked international courier (currently DHL Express). Delivery is included in the price for mainland Great Britain and Isle of Man orders; free over £32 for Guernsey and Jersey. Orders to the United States and Canada may be subject to import duties and taxes payable by you on delivery. Please see our Shipping policy for full detail.

8. Subscriptions

You can choose to receive La Lessive on a recurring basis — currently The household rhythm or The seasonal rhythm — at the subscription price shown at checkout. Subscriptions are managed through our subscription provider, Seal Subscriptions, and are available on the same terms to customers in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada, subject to the shipping and customs terms set out in Section 7 and our Shipping policy.

By starting a subscription, you give your express, affirmative consent to a minimum of three (3) deliveries before cancellation becomes available, as shown clearly before you complete your purchase. After the third delivery, you can cancel yourself at any time, the same way you started your subscription, through your account, or by emailing hello@lavoir.co.uk — see our Subscription policy for full detail. Subscriptions renew automatically at your chosen rhythm until cancelled, and payment is taken for each delivery using your saved payment method. We may change subscription prices with reasonable advance notice; any change will apply only to deliveries after that notice.

Your statutory right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your first order still applies, as set out in our Returns policy.

9. Returns and cancellations

Your rights to return items and to cancel are set out in full in our Returns policy, which forms part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including the LAVOIR name and logo, text, images, designs, and branding — belongs to LAVOIR LTD or its licensors and is protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce, or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission.

11. Our responsibility to you

We take care in preparing and sending every order. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care, but we are not responsible for losses that are unforeseeable, or for losses arising from your misuse of a product against the guidance provided.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

12. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it, including specific information for customers in California and Canada.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this website at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you are a consumer resident in the United States, Canada, or elsewhere outside England and Wales, this clause does not remove or reduce any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the law of your own country, state, or province, and those rights continue to apply alongside these Terms.
