Question 1 What is La Lessive?
La Lessive is a soap-based liquid laundry wash made in small batches with Marseille soap flakes, water, and LAVOIR’s signature perfume. It is inspired by the way laundry used to be done: simply, carefully, and without anything unnecessary.
Question 2 How does it smell?
Clean, soft, and familiar. La Lessive is perfumed with a savon-inspired composition from Grasse, created to feel like linen dried slowly in the open air. It is not loud, sharp, or overdone.
Question 3 How do I use it?
Shake gently before use. Use around 30ml per wash — three level 10ml wooden spoons. Pour into the machine drawer or directly into the drum, then adjust gently depending on your machine, water hardness, and how soiled the laundry is.
Question 4 Is La Lessive a soap or a detergent?
La Lessive is a liquid laundry soap, not a conventional detergent. It is made with Marseille soap flakes rather than a modern enzyme detergent system, so it sits outside the usual laundry category.
Question 5 What is it made from?
La Lessive is made with Marseille soap flakes, water, and LAVOIR’s signature perfume. The ingredient list is: Aqua, Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide, Parfum, Hexyl Salicylate.
Question 6 Can I use it on all fabrics?
La Lessive is made for everyday laundry such as linen, towels, bedding, cottons, and regular household washing. For wool, silk, delicate fabrics, special garments, or anything precious, always follow the garment care label and test first where needed.
Question 7 Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
La Lessive is made simply, but it does contain perfume. If you have very sensitive skin, known allergies, or concerns about perfumed products, please check the ingredients carefully before use.
Question 8 Is it bio or non-bio?
Neither, exactly. “Bio” and “non-bio” describe laundry detergents with or without enzymes. La Lessive is a soap-based laundry wash. It contains no enzymes, but it is not a non-bio detergent either.
Question 9 Can I return it?
You have 14 days from receiving your order to change your mind, for any reason. You are welcome to open the box and check your order, as you would in a shop — anything returned unopened is refunded in full. Once a bottle has been opened or used, we can no longer resell it, so we issue a partial refund of 50% of the product price. Return postage for a change of mind is yours; if an item is faulty or we have sent the wrong thing, we cover the postage and refund you in full.
Question 10 When will my order be sent?
Orders are packed carefully by hand. As LAVOIR is made in small batches, dispatch times may vary slightly during busy periods, but every parcel is prepared with care and sent by tracked UK delivery.
Question 11 How much does each wash cost?
One tin is £32 and gives around 30 washes, which works out to roughly £1.07 per wash, delivery included. There are no hidden extras — the price you see is the price you pay.
Question 12 What does the Seasonal Rhythm subscription include?
The Seasonal Rhythm sends a fresh tin of La Lessive once a season, at £27 per delivery, for households who would rather not think about reordering. Subscriptions include a minimum of three deliveries before cancellation, and can be paused or adjusted afterwards from your account.
